Where are the resort beaches located?
High quality beaches are situated in the resort towns of Bridlington, Hornsea and Withernsea and all facilities are fully detailed in the brochure 'Explore the East Riding Coast' which is available as a pdf document below.

The individual resorts are considerably different in size and vary with the type of facilities provided. Many of the services and promenades are managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council tourism services.

Do any of the resorts have awards?
Yes, Hornsea has the Blue Flag award whilst Bridlington's North & South Beaches and Withernsea have the Seaside Award.
Blue Flag is a prestigious, international award scheme which acts as a guarantee to tourists that a beach or marina they are visiting is one of the best in the world. It is awarded to coastal destinations which have achieved the highest quality in water, facilities, safety, environmental education and management.

Are there chalets available?

Can you hire deckchairs?
Deckchairs and windbreaks are available for hire at Bridlington (subject to weather conditions) at both the north and south Bridlington foreshore offices all of which are well signposted on the seafront.
Do the toilets have changing facilities?
All resorts have toilets with baby changing and special needs changing facilities.
Can I hire a beach wheelchair?
Yes! Introduced in the summer of 2013, the "All Terrain Landeez Beach Wheelchair" is available for hire on Bridlington’s south beach.
This wheelchair enables visitors to enjoy the freedom and surroundings of the Bridlington south beach. The large rubber wheels of the Landeez are designed especially for outdoor use, making the beach easily accessible. The following document shows a picture of the wheelchair:

The wheelchair can be hired on a half-day basis and is located at the Foreshores Office on Princess Mary Promenade. A deposit of £10 is required but there is no charge for the hire of the wheelchair.

Can I hire a disability bike?
Yes. Aimed at people with disabilities, their families and their carers, this new scheme offers adapted bikes, safe cycle routes along the North Promenade, organised rides and a chance for people to take part with their families, friends and carers.
The maximum booking will be one hour of cycling time, though two-hour slots will be allocated, to allow time for training and familiarisation with the bike.
