SCI-FI SCARBOROUGH LAND TOP COMIC BOOK ARTIST
Top comic book artist John McCrea has confirmed he will be appearing at Sci-Fi Scarborough for the whole weekend at Scarborough Spa in 2018.
Belfast born John is a respected illustrator and comic book artist who works for many of the major Western publishers including the big two: Marvel and DC Comics. He has illustrated iconic characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Hulk, Spider Man, Daredevil, Wolverine, Star Wars, Judge Dredd and the Simpsons amongst others.
In addition, he works as an illustrator in book, record and magazine publishing and undertakes design and story boarding work for multimedia and the entertainment industry including being a Lucasfilm accredited artist.
Recent projects include drawing the new ongoing Mars Attacks! comic from IDW, assorted Mars Attacks! trading cards from Topps, Progenitor, a new series for the iPad only comic Aces Weekly launched by David Lloyd, BBC Bitesize comic strips, a short story for the new Vertigo Comics anthology Ghosts and a new series of Dicks from Avatar Press.
John also teaches in schools and colleges and is the lead facilitator in comic art for Hi8us, a sister company to Maverick Television. He works with charitable organisations and local authorities producing comics spotlighting issues such as children's rights, drug abuse, homelessness, safe sex and proper foot care!

Sci-Fi Scarborough is back for the fifth year in the beautiful Victorian Spa Complex. A full fun packed weekend, a brilliant mix of amazing guests, authors, movie & TV props, console, retro & table top gaming, comic book artists, indie films, Cosplay competition, panels, software developers, geek pub quiz, live music, collectible traders & Saturday night party, it’s the unconventional convention, run by the fans, for the fans.
The event runs from Saturday 21st April 10am-5pm with the geek pub quiz, party & live music from 6.30pm till late, and Sunday 22nd April 10am-5pm.
