One of our favourite attractions in Scarborough has begun work this week on a major foyer refurbishment and we have some progress photos as well as a sneak peek of what's to come!!
The Stephen Joseph Theatre, is an incredible theatre in the round here in Scarborough and was the first ever of its kind in Britain. Now boasting the facilities to offer Theatre, Music, Streaming, Film, Workshops and Classes and Events, Stephen Joseph is a central hub and we can't wait to see the brand new foyer!
The transformation of the SJT project, encompasses more than just changes to the foyer but in a nutshell they are hoping that everyone will have easy access to the theatre and a fantastic time while they're there, for it to be a place where everyone feels welcome and at home and to ensure that this iconic 1936 Odeon building is properly maintained for many generations to come.
The Box Office has currently moved along Northway to the OutReach Rooms for the duration of the work, and already the foyer is looking very different! See below the photos for where we are at so far and the architect's drawings of what's to come!
