This January, join us at the York Residents’ Festival!

As we all know, York is an amazing city, the heart of Yorkshire, filled with wondrous hidden treasures for all to enjoy. People come far and wide to visit the world famous Shambles, wonderfully named Whip-ma-whop-ma-gate, the magnificent Minster and the birth place of Guy Fawkes amongst many other attractions. And while we welcome all these visitors to share our amazing city, we are also so excited to celebrate the city with our very own residents!

York residents can visit York Castle Museum, York Art Gallery and the Yorkshire Museum for FREE on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 January 2018.

You will be able to enjoy the chance to explore the city and be a tourist for the weekend - all for free! Organised by Make it York, and sponsored by First, this annual Festival is their way of saying a HUGE 'Thank you' for the warm welcome you give to York's 7 millions visitors. Now in it's 23rd year, it's a great way to discover York's visitor attractions without the cost.

This year there is a chance to explore behind the scenes at a number of venues not usually open to the public, plus some great dining and retail offers. To claim your free entry, please bring along proof of your York residency for FREE admission, by bringing a valid York Card, Council Tax Bill or a York student card as proof of residency. Under 17s always go free at all of our sites.

Remember that for some of the attractions, tours and events, you'll need to pre-book and that some venues have limited free tickets and operate on a first come, first served basis. Please check the details for each offer carefully. Students need to be studying in the city to take part with a valid York student ID card.

DATES: Jan 27th - Jan 28th
