Bridlington Park & Ride

Bridlington park and ride

What Bridlington park and ride is, its location, cost of parking, site opening times, number of spaces, toilets, distance from beach, bus or land train and disabled facilities.

What is the Bridlington park and ride?

Bridlington park and ride is situated approximately a mile to the south of Bridlington resort at South Cliff car park.

This car park gives direct access to the beach and other facilities and provides a Park and Ride service, operating throughout the summer until the end of October.

Please note: that at certain times, a height barrier of 2.30m will be in operation. If you require access through this, please make arrangements with South Cliff Caravan Park on (01262) 671051 or call into South Cliff Caravan Park reception on your journey up to the Park and Ride entrance so that we can arrange for an attendant to meet you and open the barrier.

Bridlington Land Train

As well as the park and ride service, we also have a land train called the 'Spalight Coastal Explorer' providing a link to the town centre.

Where is the Bridlington park and ride?

Parking is at South Cliff car park overlooking Bridlington bay.

Beach access

Access to the beach in some cases is less than 50 metres from the park and ride. The type of access varies; there are stairs at several locations and some access is via the grass dunes overlooking the bay.

There are slipway access ramps within 100 metres to the north and south of the car park.

Directions to the car park

If you are using a sat-nav, the postcode for the park and ride is YO15 3QN.

Located on the south side of Bridlington, access is via the A1038 Kingsgate and the roundabout adjacent to the caravan park.

Follow access and directional signs on the north and southern routes into Bridlington.

What is the cost of parking?

The cost is £4.00 for all-day parking for all vehicles, including disabled drivers. This cost includes transport into Bridlington and the return trip for up to five persons.

Please note: The council policy is to charge for all parking and off-street locations including disabled drivers for whom dedicated bays are created.

You can now also pay by credit or debit card at the machines.

When is the site open?

The site opens on Saturday 8 April 2017 through until the end of October (there are electronic signs advising visitors) and the site is open from 7am until 8pm (with the last transport being 6.15pm).

Please note: during October, the bus services will operate on a Saturday and Sunday only, with the exception of October half term where a full week service will be provided.

Charges apply from 8am to 6pm.

Transport links to town start from 9.30am. Last bus times vary throughout the season. Please check the timetable for variations:

How many spaces are there?

There are over 1000 spaces including over 50 disabled spaces.

Are there any toilets on site?

Yes, there are toilets, including disabled and special needs. There’s also an information Kiosk. Two cafés operate on a franchise and open according to seasonal demand.

Can we just hop on the bus or land train?

Yes, once you have paid £4.00 to park, up to five persons (including the driver) can travel and return on the transport from town. You can travel at any time that day, e.g. you can visit the beach first or walk the beach into town and catch the transport back or vice versa.

If you want to split up as a group, some go shopping whilst others play on the beach, then get your tickets to ride from the coach first.

People with consession passes will no longer be able to use them on the Park and Ride service and will now be subject to paying supplemented fares.

Where does the bus pick up from?

The bus picks up and drops off at the park and ride terminus and again directly opposite the harbour top/in front of South Cliff gardens. There are no intermediate pick up points.

At weekends from 27 May – 3 September, and from 28 October to 5 November, and during school holidays, the buses will stop outside the new East Riding Leisure Bridlington. In addition, during the six- week school summer holidays, the service will be extended until 8pm each evening.

The timetable can be viewed by clicking on the following document:

Are there any disabled facilities?
