Dalby the Great Yorkshire Forest

Dalby Forest, managed by the Forestry Commission, offers over 8,000 acres of woodland to explore, enjoy and discover, including our Grand Father Oak play area for children, family BBQ and picnic areas, adrenalin activities for the thrill seekers and plenty of way-marked walking and cycling trails for all abilities.

Enjoy and explore our Visitor Centre and find out more about Dalby Forest and the surrounding area or enjoy a wide range of locally produced snacks and meals for all the family at the Visitor Centre Cafe.

Visitors wanting to burn off some energy can use the 50 miles of cycle trails to explore the forest. There is a range of cycle trails from family routes to highly technical and demanding routes. Dalby Bike Barn offers high quality bikes to suit all ages and abilities. For hire information visit dalbybikebarn.co.uk.

If you like your excitement off the ground, try Go Ape’s high wire adventure course or Tree Top Junior, with high ropes and zip wires amongst the trees. Or why not explore the forest terrain on segways for a totally different experience. For more information visit goape.co.uk.

For a gentle and relaxing stroll within the forest choose one of our way-marked trails of varying in lengths. A number of the trails are all ability and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The newly developed Ellerburn Trail easy route from the main car park, follows the Dalby Beck south down the valley. There are plenty of picnic tables that can also accommodate wheelchairs. Guide maps for the way-marked trails are available from the Visitor Centre.

For those who like to relax, there’s always a quiet corner to watch the wildlife and take in the fresh air and scenery.

Dalby Activity Centre offers visitors the chance to raise their adrenalin levels by undertaking paintballing, archery and other activities from team building days, corporate groups, birthday parties and stag & hen groups. For more information visit dalbyactivitycentre.co.uk.

Dalby Forest is the perfect outdoor venue for corporate training sessions and team building; why not try hiring our meeting rooms with easy access and views over the forest. The forest offers a diverse range of special events throughout the year including music concerts, motorsports events, guided walks, craft sessions, seasonal events, cycling and running events, and children’s holiday activities, plus wildlife and nature events. Admission charge into Dalby Forest is £8.00 per car from Mar – Oct and £4.00 per car from Nov - Feb. The Forest is open from 8.00am – 8.00pm daily and the Visitor Centre is open from 10am – 4.00pm daily.
